Pain peels perpetually the possibility of patient persistence. It is the marrow of serenity and sorrow, and an invitation to masochistic merriment. I choose pain, and the loss of love. It is breathless, a buoyant harbor of hope—a quiet storm, and a safety I’ve never  known.
