I grew up in Los Angeles, and was raised in a working/middle class family. Both of my parents always worked, and taught me the value of hard work, persistence, and leadership.
I worked in the private sector for 16 years, then went back to school at 33 and graduate from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelors in Sociology, and from Oregon State University with a Masters in Human Development and Family Studies.
I have both intellectual knowledge and practical experience in leading and coaching individuals and teams, both personally and professionally, especially in higher education. I am now the Director of the Extended Learning Department at Linn-Benton Community College in Albany, OR.
In addition to leading and coaching individuals and teams, I also write. I love writing, and have published articles on leadership development, organizational culture, creating teams, and on personal development. I also love to write poetry, and have published several pieces in the last year. Please check out my blog for posts, articles, and poetry.
