I am on a quest for happiness. Pain,

the contours of skin—you

remind me solace returns anew. 

The center, a locus of control unmade, fragile and fraught. I 

step into a wish, protection’s umbrella—

cleansing. Humanity’s sins, I struggle 

to be me again.
