#NatureSpeaks: 30 #Poems in 30 Days – Day 11: The Desert Dance, by Cindy Georgakas

Tumbleweed pulses through my veins,
of Baryshnikov’s dance.

I writhe in pain as I wrap my feet and smile.

My heart races as the heat of the desert scorches within

searching for an opening

my gut twisted in knots as I breathe in the beauty of the cholo cactus that runs through my spine out my crown Chakra,

reminiscent of the heavens I find within
you and me.

I take a bow to the audience and the vista-blowing tumbleweed that sweeps my heart to love that opens to the heavens.

Dry and arid landscape,
Cracks in the ground bring water.
