#NatureSpeaks: 30 #Poems in 30 Days โ€“ Day 17: The Resurrection of Red, by Camellia

When was the last time
We turned the pages of our photo album?
Our memories changed colors,
Stripped of its blues, the red walked aloneโ€ฆ
A haunting in lavender, the mountain shook
As our watery hearts created a world,
Trapped between latitudes and longitudesโ€ฆ
Emerald leaves, signed with secrets,
Flew in the windโ€ฆ
I guess you were always like a quiet forest,
And I was the sun that shined through you,
Blinded by my own lightโ€ฆ
Eyes closed, mind opened at last,
I surrender to your empty canopyโ€ฆ
Riseโ€ฆ

The Resurrection of Red was inspired by the poem Lavender Sheds. You can read more of Camelliaโ€™s poetry on Twitter here.

two vines, dancing forevermore

I watch,
listen,
and learn more,
as the forest
comes alive, and

the
vibrancy
emanating off
the floor,
speaks to me
in a language
never heard beforeโ€ฆ

light
dancing
with darkness,
as shadows
glow, and speak
of transcendence

leaves fall,
while I sprawl,
and continue
to listen
to two hearts,
intertwined now,
just like two vines,
dancing forevermore

Keeps

The trail winds to the left, and, yes
Sometimes I do feel bereft, yet not usually
When Iโ€™m in this scene, which is just like a dream.

Something from the fiction books, beautiful and deeply
Colored earth underfoot, stunning shrubbery and foliage
Descending and ascending on either side, reminding me
Of such kinder times. Trees as tall as the sky, looking up, feeling
Dizzy, and completely in love with this misty morning.

A deep grin catches my eye, as I continue to fly
Along the trail, listening to only my heart beat,
and the sounds of the forest underneath.

Being present, I let the thoughts drop back,
One foot in front of the other, breathe in deep,
and remember we are all in this play for keeps.
