Prized Possession

I find you in memories
crowded in the mind, and in the mist
in between

the rain —
bittersweet

am I
and in awe of a promise to keep
to you, and to me

a prized possession —
love

blossoming
underneath the mountains hearth
our home
among the chaos
and the calm of the shadowed streets

A choreographed yet tethered balance
Of give and take
A resolute yet discerning choice
Of stay not stray

One Forever

Numb to the pain
of a very long
day,

I ponder
the way of it,
and also consider
the play a bit.

Two warring factions, looking
for attention,
and peace of mind,
regardless
of our time,
so please be kind.

Think about the paradox
you’ve created
to talk about;
knowing all the while,
each faction
is only a distraction

of mind.

And, when we get clear
on all that we find, we realize,
the truth about this clever
semantical lever,
and make the
two, One
forever.
