Plum Trees, Published at MasticadoresUSA

I am pleased to announce that my poem, Plum Trees, is now available at MasticadoresUSA. Thank you to Gabriela Marie Milton, and the team at MasticadoresUSA for their continued support and for publishing this piece.

Plum Trees

plum trees always take
my breath away

as in their shade, we play
with notions of hope and trust

and a little bit of the magic seen
within the last bunchโ€ฆ

I would be honored if you would go here, and read the rest of my poem. Thank you!

#NatureSpeaks: 30 Poems in 30 Days โ€“ Day 3: Love and Pain, by Peace Isama

I light the candle of love
Beaming a radiant glare of pain and gain
I reminisce about the feeling,

Lingering butterflies in the meadow of my heart
I kissed each flower in nectar sweetness
For you were the garden

But I once read, โ€œlove and pain are perfect twinsโ€

So letโ€™s kindle and rekindle this candle of love
Till it forever glows the undying mystery
โ€œlove and pain are perfect twinsโ€!

Love and Pain was inspired by the poem Butterfly Love. You can read more of Isama Peaceโ€™s poetry at Isama Peace Blog.

Submissions are still open for the Nature Speaks of Love and Sorrow: 30 Poems in 30 Days Collaboration. The submission details are located here.

Interview with Victoria Onofrei, Bloomsbury Radio, London; and, lavender petals

I was elated last month when Victoria Onofrei of Bloomsbury Radio sent me a message inviting me to an interview on her radio show. The interview was conducted a couple of weeks ago via Zoom. Victoria is a lovely host, and a delightful conversationalist. It was great fun.

In the interview we talk about #1 Amazon New Release Nature Speaks of Love and Sorrow, #1 Amazon Bestseller Wounds I Healed: The Poetry of Strong Women, both published by Experiments in Fiction, my writing process, music, love, life, and much more.

The interview will air tomorrow, Sunday 9/25 at 6 pm BST, and 10 am PT USA.

You can access Bloomsbury Radio here.

I would be honored if you would tune in, thank you!

lavender petals

dreams
made out of lavender
and crushed rose petals

entice the tips of my senses

a river of feelings
flooding

the body with endorphins

releasing hope

through an atmosphere
often

choked
with despair

though

I
always
remember
love is in the air

natureโ€™s toil

north, by northwest
of my soul

I find natureโ€™s toil

where flowers bloom in my veins
and tears

soak
the soil
with your name

etched
in the blood of our love

a remembrance, of two
and a shadow from up above

Coal Dust

diamond-like resilience
made from coal dust

and a little bit of luck from the sun

creates flowers
blooming in the garden of my heart

I trustโ€ฆ

I would be honored if you would go here, and read the rest of my poem. Thank you!

paper moon

the paper moon
holds light up to the pain

while we strive to make gains

out of dust, knowing
weary travels

create a refrain within my heart
looking to you

I wonder
about the stories told to me as a boy
once

fresh from the cocoon
instability, and ability choose

to come along again soon

my muse

my muse lives in the wind
and under my skin

bleeding ink over a transparent sky
thin

and rough
around the edges

where the ambit of life is known
and unknown, and

we practice returning the love weโ€™re shown

My Dearest Friends,

Itโ€™s been an amazing month, filled with anticipation, anxiety, and a ton of excitement! Engaging with all of you this month was as it always is, filled with amazing support, kindness, generosity, and love.ย

I am filled with a ton of emotion as I type these words. Elation and excitement about tomorrowโ€™s release of Nature Speaks of Love and Sorrow, gratitude for each of you, and a deep and profound appreciation for our community.

I want to thank Ingrid Wilson, of Experiments in Fiction. Ingrid is an amazingly talented writer, editor, and publisher; without you, Ingrid, I would not be here today. Thank you.

I am honored to be here, to share my heart and mind with you, and to continue to do so each and every day.

As you all know reading poetry is new to me, and, while this is true, I had a wonderful time creating these poetry readings. So much fun, in fact, I will create more of these poetry readings in the future. Here are this months readings from Nature Speaks of Love and Sorrow.

Reviews

As Iโ€™ve mentioned each of these reviews touched my heart. I cannot thank each of these wonderfully talented writes and friends enough for taking the time to read and review Nature Speaks of Love and Sorrow. If you missed these beautiful reviews, they are linked below.

Zoom Event Recording

The Special Zoom Event this past Sunday was a blast. Thank you to everyone that was able to make it. I enjoyed seeing each of you, and participating in the lively discussion you created. So much fun! If you were unable to attend, the recording is below.

a radiant star, and

Nature Speaks of Love and Sorrow: A Poetry Reading

Welcome to the third of four poetry readings this August from Nature Speaks of Love and Sorrow.

While creating these readings gave me quite a bit of anxiety at first, they have been a blast, and are something I would like to do a little more regularly in the future.ย

Alright, without further ado, here is the poetry reading of Slow-Motion Moments.

We are 10 days away from the release of Nature Speaks of Love and Sorrow, and with each day that passes, my excitement grows. Thank you all for being here each day, and for celebrating this accomplishment with me. I am blessed to know each of you.

Have a wonderful week.
