under an open sun…, Published at MasticadoresUSA

I am so pleased to announce that my poem, under an open sun…, is now available at MasticadoresUSA. A big thank you to, Gabriela Marie Milton, and the team at MasticadoresUSA for their continued support, and for publishing this piece.

under an open sun…

I rise from the depths of the sea, surmising all
I’ve seen, in-between the pain handed down,
and the joy,

a special
place in my heart…

I would be honored if you would go here, and read the rest of my poem. Thank you!

The Gift Bestowed

jagged edges
cut deep
while resolving

we keep

our connection
to all
of our heart’s
deepest secrets
for you and me

for a time

with fervor
and a gusto
all their

we know

the show
is only
for those
that truly grow

other iterations
of being
while transfixed
by the matrix
of collective

of past

we resolve

and move
toward tomorrow
with a sense of
and yes
sometimes sorrow

we behold

of the
gift bestowed

I wrote this poem the other night, and I as I reflected upon the WDYS #87 prompt from Keep it Alive, by Sadje, it occurred to me that this poem was perfect for the prompt. I love it when that happens.

Sometimes we borrow
From tomorrow
To forget our sorrow

Covered up

And forgotten,
Unlike something

Yet, what we miss, and
Let us not be remiss

Is the joy that comes
When we stop borrowing
From the morrow
To cover up our sorrow

Facing it instead

Is the only real way
To live
A life filled with peace and love
Instead of dread

Let the tears come,
I say
As we face things
We once ran from

In the end,

Never really gets you far,
As the sorrow buried deep inside
Of you, is, yes,

A part of you,

And is also looking for
From the cage
Full of bars, which

We created
under different stars

It’s now time to play, so
Release the sorrow friend,
And welcome
The dawn of a new day

Filled with peace and love
Awaiting your caress,
Yet first
We must face our sorrow,

By always paying back what we borrow
