As we leave this week behind, and prepare for the week ahead, I wanted to take a moment to thank each of you for the wonderful posts, comments, conversations, and interactions these past 6-months.
I’ve found a wonderful community, filled with light and love, and I appreciate each of you.
I’ve been more drawn to poems this past week, so it is only fitting to complete this week with one more. Here then, is
The Light
In times of chaos and Fickle fancy roars
Stand inside and Protect the light
Given us to protect So please take time to reflect
Upon That which is known Within the unknown
Seemingly two, yet Is really One
Of many mysteries
Founded upon a legacy Granted to each of us Not taken for
Bear in mind and Mind That which is seen
For the light is bright Which comes at night
Though day breaks In splendid Created wonder
Of all that is known And unknown Both Come to the light At the end of their night
Alright, so I’ve also been reflecting upon the miraculous and mundane this week. Yep. True. Why?
Well, there was a time when the mundane was all I really saw. Pretty cynical. Yep. Also truth.
And, it is important for me to keep this truth in my awareness.
You can at one moment see the mundane in the miraculous, just as you can see the miraculous in the mundane. Yep. It is really all about what we choose to see.
Meaning that it is all about how we know ourselves; know and feel our truth. Really.
When we know and love ourselves, we see the miraculous everywhere, and love in everything and everyone. It works that way. Fun and beautiful.
Alright, a poem, here we go.
The Miraculous and Mundane
Blade of grass, mundane in one moment And miraculous in another
Just as a crack
in the pavement, miraculous in one moment And mundane in another
The viewer views, the Creator creates, the Miraculous or the mundane
We view and see, yet what we see is not always all there is to be seen
Look closely within And ask the questions needed, to Set yourself free, upon, and within this life
You can view the miraculous everywhere, And in everything
Remember
The miraculous is always there awaiting your return, and inner-knowing
Though you may think it gone mundaneness everywhere look again with new eyes, and you shall see that which was always there and will always be
That was fun.
As you enjoy your weekend, be on the lookout for the miraculous. Take a look around and notice. Notice all of the miraculous within you, and around you. You are all, after all, miraculous human beings. Just as you are.
It’s almost the rainy season in the Pac Northwest, so getting out in the sunshine today was a must. Was gorgeous out today, as you will see in the pics below.
While I was hiking this poem occured to me. 🙂
Nature’s bounty Human failings
Separate though They seem
Inextricably connected They are one
A mirror
Of both bounty And failing
One in breath One in mind
Two inseparable Joined in A hindered hearted delight
Have you ever written a piece of poetry? Though I’ve only written a few, there is something wonderfully vulnerable about the process of creating a poem. It’s different from traditional forms of writing. Very. There is a nakedness in the crafting of a poem. As if the soul is being bared and shared with those on the other end. Vulnerable.
Let’s share in this vulnerable moment together. Here is a poem I created this afternoon, after a few days at the coast. It occurred to me on my afternoon walk. Actually I wrote it on that walk, and it is now that I share it with you.
Our darkest hour is nearly here Hold onto what you hold dear, as There will be a prescient light, Which you can call upon tonight
Though pain is life, And life is pain, Know There is no other way
Through strife and hardship We must fight to know the life that’s been brought to light
A journey, Our right, so Don’t fear, and Take flight
In those times Of Darkened night, When the soul is stretched beyond, And there’s fright
Take solace Dear friends And don’t Give up the light
Be true to you, Also take care, and Please don’t despair
Though alone you feel, Alone you are not As we all share the same Birthright
For in our shared humanity Is where Your connection will flourish And last
Through the connections we share The brighter the light becomes As we can all understand Both passion and strife
They are equals you see Both necessary for life
Take care of yourself And love long this life By sharing yourself among those With more plights
Remember always their plights Are sources for all And share with them the resourcefulness You know
