sky blue

I see love in you, and the sky blue

wishing upon a falling star
true

I wonder

about nature
and the love living inside my mind

though, this time
I relegate love to another line

of hope, as it lingers in the air
like mist carrying the sun
within its moist, and ever so toiled

breath, I dare

to challenge the moon, breaking apart
my heart

none

can prepare me for the agony
of lifeโ€™s darkness
to me, each morning renewed

with starkness, so

I run, and run, and run, and, then

Stop.

and, wait at the end of the sun
where arises something new

as I reach out my hand toward you

scent of jasmine

You.

Itโ€™s always been, given to me once
at the precipice of a love

filled with tales
grim
and othersโ€™ riding the backs of whales

I listen for you in the nightshade
of a heart asundered

by the mere mention of your name in pale
and indigo fibers

filled with stitched together riders

their hearts, gold through and through
just like the love I feel for you

A moment.

I pause to breathe
and exhale the scent of jasmine

realizing youโ€™ve come to me in time

with the music I hear, for two, everytime to my heart
nearer, are

You.

guide unknown

painted hills and magenta skies
call to me

to see
all that I once believed

as lollipops arise in your eyes
a special place in my heart

they do reside

inside
the love that goes out with the tide

and mingles with the salt and stone
a guide unknown

to those that know, a place called home

iron leaves

guidance comes on the shoulders
of mountain tops

a reliance

on the love living inside my fingertips
short, and stout

they speak to me of dreams, unseen

a reality
forged from iron leaves
while the fragrance of love always makes me believe

in you, my love

Can you see me through the pain inside the loving breeze?

I can see you too.

itโ€™s here, my love
where I will always wait for you

Hidden Inside, Published at Spillwords Press

I am excited to announce that my poem, Hidden Inside, is now available at Spillwords Press. A big thank you to Dagmara K., and the whole team at Spillwords for publishing this piece, and for their continued support.

Hidden Inside

I crumble like stone
into a void with no home

falling

I try to understand the pain
and trauma coming up

within a body and mind, a disease
no one can find

hidden

inside the elements of being
swimming upcurrentโ€ฆ

I would be honored if you would go here, and read the rest of my poem. Thank you!

lavender lines

tumbleweeds thread the head of a pin

while the size of our loveโ€™s always been
reminiscent of the dreams laden in your hands

like the flavor of morning dew
know that Iโ€™ve always seen youโ€ฆ

I would be honored if you would go here, and read the rest of my poem. Thank you!

Night Tide

I alight on a star
itโ€™s farther than Iโ€™ve ever been before

a thousand miles away from you
I transfix my eyes

on all the galaxies next door
while knowingโ€ฆ

I would be honored if you would go here, and read the rest of my poem. Thank you!

open sea

sitting in the open sea
watching the tide rescue the myriad

relations of me

my heart transcends the fibrous moon
as crawling beneath the flowers

I bloom

looking toward another aspect of truth
the fragrance of turmoil and pain still strewn

while glistening in the rain
are you

The Month in Review, April 2022: At Home & Work, Debut Book Update and Writing & Blogging, and A Poem

April was an exciting month filled with much activity, both in my personal and professional life. Itโ€™s so much fun to watch life unfold, participate in it, and be fully engaged in every aspect of life. A true blessing.

At Home & Work

Linn-Benton Community College, Albany, Oregon

This month I spent time at the Community Garden, getting the soil ready for planting, which will begin in late May and early June. As you will read later in this review, I also spent a lot of time in April on my debut poetry book, and on book reviews. Itโ€™s so much fun.ย

As some of you know, I had planned a trip to London in May of this year, alas, I have rescheduled this trip to later in the year. I am excited about the new timing of this trip, as I will end up in London during the holidays, which feels lovely to me.

I am contemplating a trip to Los Angeles to see my mother and sisters this summer, which is always fun for me. Itโ€™s always great to see them and my nieces and nephews.

The team is busier than ever. The traction we have across all of the programs within Extended Learning is at an all-time high, and the services we are delivering are reaching a wider audience with each year that passes.

The Commercial Driver License Program completed its first cohort, with tremendous success; and the second cohort will begin training in two weeks.

A very busy month at home and at work, and I wouldnโ€™t have it any other way.

Debut Book Update, and Writing & Blogging

My debut poetry book now has a title, and Ingrid Wilson, of Experiments in Fiction, is currently working on the cover design.

When the cover design is complete, I will update all of you on the cover design and the title.

Most of my writing time in April was dedicated to the book. I am excited to share that I have a rough manuscript, which I will begin to edit this month.

Once the editing is complete, I will send it to Ingrid, which will be in late May, or early June.

I am also continuing to send two poems each month to MasticadoresIndia, and MasticadoresUSA. I love being a part of both of these wonderful online publications. Gabriela Maria Milton and Terveen Gill are amazing editors and wonderful friends. Working with them is a blessing.

If youโ€™ve never submitted to these two online publications, I encourage you to do so. You can find out about submission details on the respective websites.

April also found one of my poems, Realization Dawns, nominated for publication of the month at Spillwords Press. Though the poem was not voted as the publication of the month, the mere fact that it was nominated, is a great joy and honor for me.

I would like to thank each of you for continuing to support my writing and for being wonderful friends. Whether you are a new reader of my blog or someone that has been here for years, I appreciate each of you for taking the time you do to engage with me. You are all inspiring, and wonderfully talented.

Book Reviews

Resounding Lights, by Tanushree Taruchaya

Resounding Lights, by Tanushree Taruchaya takes the reader through reflections, contemplations, and introspections on deep pain and brilliant beauty.

Making connections to a life lived, and to nature, Tanushree draws the reader into poetry weaved from the soul.

The poetry contained in Resounding Lights will speak to every human being on this planet, for weโ€™ve all known pain, and weโ€™ve all known beauty, and both of these attributes are created gorgeously in this book.

I highly recommend Resounding Lights, as it is a bright light in a world that can sometimes feel very dark.ย

the moon’s cusp

grass seed reminds me of
the inevitability

of time

skipping through fields, dusty
and wheat filled

as I grow through the earthโ€™s crust, learning
Iโ€™m just enough

of the magic living inside the moonโ€™s cusp

relating to me, another aspect
of the you

I see

it comes to me
while I lean into the garden of being

and transcend the pain Iโ€™ve been feeling
