the shadow of forgiveness…

flowers hang in the air, while, I, into the abyss
stare

at the memories, folded, with great care, lifting
them up in reverence
to the shadow
of

forgiveness, I
wander

along the road, searching for my home, knowing
little, feeling
a trifle
more
than

is simple, as the record spins, and the turntable
grins

at me, in retrospect, a life’s been given, shall I strive
in the midst
of
a
heartbreak – it
looms…
yet

I move forward, carrying more, understanding less,
as the love in my heart,
forevermore,
blooms…

tears are like open wounds
that never lie, on that, we can rely

and, try as we might

we are never truly sure,
only ever, may we relish in the fervor
of yesterday’s delight, pushing us further…

I sit atop a tree, taking in the beauty seen,
beneath the forest floor, and
above the skyline,
amber tossed

less

the flame of hope and love…

heartbreaks are full of rain, and the setting sun,
is just the same, as senseless tragedies,
they came

knocking at our door, waiting, and watching
for us to bring the
thrum

of a life lived underneath the trim, and drum
of absence embroiled, and
shunned

weeping like the flowers on a midsummer morn,
we call to the heavens, wanting to know
more

about the reasons existence pulls the chains and
chords, while we fight against our inner-
discord…as

remembering seems like an eternity, we draw
on every piece of light left available, and
take it all in,
keeping
the

flame of hope and love alive, as we abide, and
continue to unwind
time

now…resting easy in our hearts and minds….

the moons gentle bestowing

the moon is always calling to me, through
the vastness of the space, in-
between

the stars and galaxies…

I rest easy in this knowing, learning more about
myself through the reflection of
the moons gentle
bestowing

kind and compassionate, sitting in the sky, just for our
eyes, like a dreamer,
disguised

in plain view, the nature of listening to the wind,
and learning from the whispers
carried on the backs
of

those we call our friends…trees, flowers, and all of nature’s
creations, call forth
a love

living at the center of the cosmos, providing protection
from the storms that enter mind, and heart
at the same time

while we sit back, breathe in, and realize that life is,
just now,
in this moment,
already in love

with
all we’ve already given…

we rise from the seas

I swim through the stars, and walk through
the seas, it’s as if presence, and
tranquility

always belonged to me…

living in the belief we hold about life’s
struggles

and dreams

we rise from the seas, and wander the strands,
looking for existence to take us by
the hand…

loving each moment with fullness of heart, glimpsing
it in every living being, we rest easy,
not clinging

to this or that, while
walking

among the flowers and trees, we continue
to pursue our dreams, and live out our
destinies…

I would like to congratulate the winners, Virginia Mateias, Ingrid Wilson, Eric Daniel Clarke, D. Wallace Peach, and Timothy Price. is not the end
this story may commence
like petals on a flowers recompense

as love breaks the moon in two

I love you…

heart broken into a million pieces,
agony inside, the time in-between
now and then, set aside

for a moment, like an eternity, dreaming
of other scenes, can’t possibly be reality, pulling
me down into this demise…

watching your hand leave mine, fingers outstretched
into another time, breaking solidity,
besides

the filament continues to flicker, wavering
in the night sky, pulling me towards belief, I
sigh…

remembering your face, holding you in arms, wide,
trying to make another sky

and portal to an alternative world, where the two
remain together, not ever bidding each other
adieu…

instead, remain together they do,
by simply saying

I love you…

underneath my skin…

as fingers caress the tree,
there is glory seen, as the feelings beneath,
keep coming for me

one, after another, they try, me,
to
set free…
and I resist, more common
persist

running against the grain, terror scratched skin,
gritting teeth, pain from within

arises again, and
again…as

the
wind breathes…and, I

relax back into the flowerbed, smelling the roses
red

I take ease, notice the bees, relate my love for them,
not
too late

to grow roots straight into the earth, becoming
one with the soil, and the beauty enveloping me,
I roil, as

pain subsides, and I continue to surmise
my love of this beautiful planet, felt beneath,
within, and underneath my skin…
