Birch Tree

I yearn
for charcoal-colored skies

where faith
and pain live together
conjoined
by tender loving hands entwined —
a paradox

and
a well of human possibility
bequeathed

to you, and me
underneath
the shade of the beautiful birch tree

Mosaic Sun

I communicate
and commune with the stars
a haven
and heaven sitting inside my heart —
relatable

yet, not at all

a disconnection
breeding restlessness
and contentment
are shadows speaking in tongues
leaving behind
a viscerally experienced mosaic
sun

cascading horizon

I wake up to you
you remind me of the brilliance
of afternoon sunsets
and

of morning dew
cascading

over a horizon filled
with pain, and with healing

a presence of colors, ambiguous
yet just enough
to

fill the space
left

by the absence of your touch

My time at the coast is always precious to me. Early morning walks along the beach provide a space for deep reflection and contemplation. This year, I stayed at a small little motel right on the oceanfront. Amazing views from my room, and easy access to the beach, where walking for miles is possible. Beautiful, invigorating, and peaceful.

Wishing you a wonderful week.

All my love and blessings,

Jeff

cherry blossoms

grapes grow in the sky
while I rely upon the love living

inside
the blossoming cherry trees

they always seem so deliciously vibrant
and in touch with you and me

a love that’s lasted centuries
fills me with a smile, a glee

handed to me, you see?

a sunny afternoon, sitting among the flower beds

I digress, and dress in roses,
my best

laid suit
by the sun’s eyes, disguised

as I learn of the stars in your heart

while a love to me, at last
they impart

may this song be sung, Published at MasticadoresIndia

Recently, I was invited to be a regular contributor to MasticadoresIndia. I have accepted this invitation, and am very excited about this new opportunity. I would like to thank Terveen Gill, and the entire team at MasticadoresIndia, for thinking of me, inviting me to be a regular contributor, and always supporting my work. I am honored.

Here is an excerpt, of the first of two poems that will be published this month at MasticadoresIndia.

may this song be sung

tears are like open wounds
that never lie, on that, we can rely

and, try as we might

we are never truly sure,
only ever, may we relish in the fervor
of yesterday’s delight, pushing us further…

I would be honored if you would go here, and read the rest of my poem. Thank you!
