dancing magic

leaves turn and bend
a winter scheme

inside my heart

dancing magic
in the sky, and in the wind

nature’s purveyor
and plenitude
of love

weaved
with delicate hands

a gift
beyond the scope
of mind

where
it remains lost
and

is only found
when we realize
it’s been there all along

I find you
in the flower
and the water

in tears of late winter
early spring comes true
gently trickling

love
flows softly, intently
rippling between us

yet scattered
sakura petals…
drift with the current

ceasing to resist
integrating my present
with a smile

I find you, again

daffodil dreams

from the tips of my fingers
to the tops of my toes

a flower sits
in repose

calling to me
dejected and forlorn

I compose

myself
and listen to the words whispered
forth

speaking to me of daffodil dreams
and peeks sanguine

in the distance
they seem

like a memory

of another time
when the love you brought to me

was something altogether different
than this fractured reverie

I am elated and honored to share with you that I was voted as the Spillwords Press Author of the Month of January and February!

I am deeply grateful to Dagmara K and the entire team at Spillwords for supporting my work; and deeply grateful to each of you for being here, supporting me, and being such wonderful friends. It is because of each of you that I am here today. You inspire me, and I appreciate each of you very much. Thank you!

rhythm and sound
walking along the ground, I stumbled,
and fell

happenings like this
tout a specific
rhythm

and sound, like walking amongst the
clouds

what confused me most then,
was not knowing —

love
is derived from
within

took quite a few more stumbles, and
tumbles

among the trees,
the leaves,
and

all of the misery

to notice, the hand was always there, even
when on the
ground

I was already found…

Woman: Splendor and Sorrow: | Love Poems and Poetic Prose, by Gabriela Marie Milton

As you may know, the the winners of the Woman: Splendor and Sorrow: | Love Poems and Poetic Prose Poetry Contest were announced earlier this week. I would like to congratulate the winners, Virginia Mateias, Ingrid Wilson, Eric Daniel Clarke, D. Wallace Peach, and Timothy Price. If you’ve not had the opportunity to read their poems, I invite you to read them at, The Winners of The Poetry Contest Woman: Splendor and Sorrow: | Love Poems and Poetic Prose. The poems are lovely.

I am humbled to have been named as an honorable mention in the contest, alongside Joni Caggiano, Cindy Georgakas, Karima Hoisan, and Carrie Yang. I admire all of these talented poets, and am, again, honored to be named among them. A BIG thank you to Gabriela Marie Milton for creating and hosting this lovely contest.

is not the end
this story may commence
like petals on a flowers recompense

and…
as love breaks the moon in two
I’m reminded of you
tranquility among stormy seas
the key

me….
