soldered heart

I see you
in the majestic & the forlorn

a depressive state
bereft
of indifference, and of alienation

tales
of evenings
alone

a soldered heart
wanting to learn more

about peace
and love

a tangent scale to climb
when

hanging
upside down from
the clouds
in the starry sky

Book Reviews

Archery In The UK

A good friend of mine and publisher of #1 Amazon Bestseller Nature Speaks of Love and Sorrow, Ingrid Wilson, released a new book recently. Archery In The UK is a collaboration with Nick Reeves, and is a beautiful and passionate book.

Once I started reading Archery In The UK it was hard to put down. The book mixes poetic forms, inviting the reader on a journey of beautifully flowing language, touching hearts, and minds, and leaving me teary-eyed, joyful, and inspired. It is an amazing collaboration.

I highly recommend Archery in the UK, which you can purchase on Amazon here.

The Light in The Cave

The Light in The Cave, by Tricia Sankey is a wonderful Novela full of richly crafted details, and characters developed with depth, and an intensity that fills the reader with a desire to read more, and more. I enjoyed the way Tricia developed the characters and the plot line in a way that left me guessing as to the story behind the story until well into the later chapters, which is where we find that the characters weโ€™ve come to know and love are not exactly who we thought they were. The Light in The Cave is an amazing work of science fiction. I highly recommend reading this wonderful book.

dancing skies

hearth, and home

the ocean
where I steady my heart

realizing
the salty breeze, and tacky sand
create

hope

in dancing skies

an intangible, yet soul-driven quest
to live

at the cliffโ€™s edge

where anxiety is present
and, you

dwell

in calm
persistence, making
up

the very center of my existence

dancing skies was inspired by the poem By the Ocean by Daphny.

heartโ€™s home

I look to the east, and west
wondering

when I last saw them

the fireflies

they come out, now and again
instead
I

count the stars in the sky
to remain calm
and

sip from the joy, within
my inner
balm

relinquishing
the fear
residing in my heartโ€™s home

heartโ€™s home was inspired by the poem Fireflies by Punam.

hope’s truth

I walk along the streets

a desolate
and desperate domain
filled

with shadowed pain

in the alleyways, and
along the riverfront

whispers

brought forth
turning my stomach end over end

like butterflies

arising again
under the brisk, and breezy moon
I see you

hopeโ€™s friend

our one and only truth

Butterflies in the Night

I sit on the front porch
considering
the moon, and the train
coming
down the tracks

I can feel it, the anxiety
the streets, and this sensation
not

missing a beat

Kinda like when you see a star
in the sky

you relate to it

itโ€™s a mirror image of you, and you know why

Life is like this at times
full of whispers of insight

We simply need to remain open
to

the butterflies in the night

heart strong

the pale
and lambent sky
is dried

and full of mist

swirling in colors, made of notes
a song

adrift

in the east
where my heart is strong
and just enough

with you

the music of my life
and my one and only love

painted brush strokes

love lives in the shadows, and
the whispers of the wind, as

along a lost trail, I go
with pain the size of stones

in my heart, I
compose

possibilities, while people in places far away
eliminate the rights to choose and be free

Do you ever wonder about peace and tranquility?

I do too.

at the same time
I consider the anger in the breeze, and

the angst pervading this body, as
visceral sensations awaken the truth

within the painted brush strokes
of a love as deep as the sea

and this terrible sadness dwelling inside of me

rainbow hues

pain arises when Iโ€™m folded
and tired

of resting my head on the wind

I often wonder about nature
and the canopies of gold so thin

and lush

they come to me
when Iโ€™m anxiety ridden
and flush from within

a heart, I have

in the moon
with as many cracks and crevices too

Can you see them reflected back at you?

I can too.

they are blue, with marigold hues

a rainbow of colors
and images

reminding me of our youth

butterfly sensations

stones fall from my eyes
holding my breath, I try

to understand the fields of sorrow
before me

while the image of you lingers in the streams
of tumbleweed

weโ€™ve deemed, a point in the past that seems
like a memory, in between

the one, two, and three tests that come on fast

while I continue to hold my last breath

fear begins to arise
a swelling and butterfly sensation in times of trepidation cries

as I finally exhale a sigh
and the love within me begins to fly

a heart filled to the brim

Photo by todd kent on Unsplash

heart
beating fast,
faster,
and then faster,
slowing down
not an option,
nor is the feeling
in my gut, protracted,
and put back
together again,
without much in the way
of a knowing,
as our beautiful sun
keeps glowing

without protection,
breeze blows me
one way,
and then another,
reelingโ€ฆ

and,
then,
Iโ€™m feeling,

light and heavy
all at the same
time,
is this a paradox
in healing, or
is there
something else here,
and Iโ€™m just not sensitive
enough
to know itโ€™s presence
within my heartโ€™s beating?

breathing,
a memory,
a hint of something
in store,
stirs me from the floor,
and all at once,
I feel for

everyone,
and everything
weโ€™ve called our home
since timeโ€™s
memory came
into
my very core

notice not coming,
and,
deep down,
the shift
in awareness
creates contemplation
once more

a sigh,
a smile, and,
the revelation
creates continuity
in being,

breathing
the awareness in,
I take all of life within,
and seal this day
with a silent prayer,
and a heart
filled to the brim
