Dust of the Unknown

You speak to me in tongues
a chronicler of the past
and of a future yet to be known
regarded with trust
and with the dust of the unknown โ€”
a kindred happenstance
wandering through the calm
and through the chaos of so many fenced-in streets
alone

Whatโ€™s New With Me

I am taking on more responsibilities at work and in the community, (super fun service opportunities like serving on a Board of Directors for a local foundation and serving on a search committee for a new Chamber CEO) which simply means that my blogging time is going to again be reduced. Iโ€™ve no idea how often Iโ€™ll be on WP and the social media sites, though it feels like every other or third week seems most likely.

I will visit all of you as often as possible. Know that no matter how often I visit you are always in my head and my heart.

Alright, here are some pics of Justin who graduated Magna Cum Laude this weekend with a Bachelorโ€™s degree in Computer Engineering from the College of Engineering at Oregon State University; he already has his first job at Dimler, an amazing company, which makes diesel trucks and Mercedes Benz.

Also located among these pics is a picture of Nature Speaks of Love and Sorrow on the shelves of the local bookstore. I appreciate them for carrying it and appreciate everyone who has purchased it.

I will see you all as soon as I am able and am sending you, as always, my love and blessings.

Prized Possession

I find you in memories
crowded in the mind, and in the mist
in between

the rain โ€”
bittersweet

am I
and in awe of a promise to keep
to you, and to me

a prized possession โ€”
love

blossoming
underneath the mountains hearth
our home
among the chaos
and the calm of the shadowed streets

babbling brook

I passed a white oak once
which spoke
about hopes, and
tropes

dished out long ago

an amusing
and configurative challenge
laid out beside

a stream

where
you will always find me

contemplating
the chaos of dreams

and, the world of gravity
holding

me down

even when I want to rise

though, I now realize
itโ€™s up to me to choose another stage

of life, of love

where the sun comes up
inside my heart
and in the veins of the babbling brook

babbling brook was inspired by the poem The Origin of Love by, Cassa Bassa.

dancing skies

hearth, and home

the ocean
where I steady my heart

realizing
the salty breeze, and tacky sand
create

hope

in dancing skies

an intangible, yet soul-driven quest
to live

at the cliffโ€™s edge

where anxiety is present
and, you

dwell

in calm
persistence, making
up

the very center of my existence

dancing skies was inspired by the poem By the Ocean by Daphny.

heartโ€™s home

I look to the east, and west
wondering

when I last saw them

the fireflies

they come out, now and again
instead
I

count the stars in the sky
to remain calm
and

sip from the joy, within
my inner
balm

relinquishing
the fear
residing in my heartโ€™s home

heartโ€™s home was inspired by the poem Fireflies by Punam.

raging storm

I walk and wade
along a line in the sky

drawn by verses
twinkling in the night

a lullaby

calling out
sounds and notes

the last defense against allegories
of misanthrope

a raging storm

calmed
by tides of peace, love, and hope

#NatureSpeaks: 30 #Poems in 30 Days โ€“ Day 9: The Origin of Love, by Cassa Bassa

I sit in the quiet underneath the white oak
watch the rain rolling from my left
edging the sun towards my right
Isnโ€™t that what grief does to us
chipping away the simple things we enjoy
I remain sitting under the tangled arms
unshaken, unmoved, undisturbed
Here is my sanctuary and centre of gravity
where we once hid from the worldโ€™s chaos
and found each other locked gaze in awe

The Origin of Love was inspired by the poem Butterfly Love. You can read more of Cassaโ€™s poetry at Flicker of Thoughts.

#NatureSpeaks: 30 #Poems in 30 Days โ€“ Day 8: By the Ocean, by Daphny

As the sun rose
we were still by the shore,
just us; you and I

the tide passing through us

no dusk nor dawn
neither the oceans roar
could make us leave

as we got lost in each otherโ€™s embrace

the ocean starts to calm
even the sun shined through the storms
as a new chapter of us unfold

when the sun raised by the ocean.

By the Ocean was inspired by the poem Ocean and Sand. You can read more of Daphnyโ€™s poetry at The Introvert Writer.

Butterflies in the Night

I sit on the front porch
considering
the moon, and the train
coming
down the tracks

I can feel it, the anxiety
the streets, and this sensation
not

missing a beat

Kinda like when you see a star
in the sky

you relate to it

itโ€™s a mirror image of you, and you know why

Life is like this at times
full of whispers of insight

We simply need to remain open
to

the butterflies in the night

heart strong

the pale
and lambent sky
is dried

and full of mist

swirling in colors, made of notes
a song

adrift

in the east
where my heart is strong
and just enough

with you

the music of my life
and my one and only love
