gossamer tree

I mourn you
even though your presence is
near

a mist, cycling on this plane
of ice

thin
and brittle, like a heart
cusped

with love incomplete

the world
sings to you out of fear

while you wander aimlessly
coping

with harsh realities

felt
beneath a toadstool of pain, which
blossoms when least
expected

and stings, just
like the gossamer tree

Timeโ€™s Ashes

I drive in circles
manifesting

a purpose

given to me as a child

itโ€™s these coattails of peace and love
I ride

transcending pain, a realizationโ€ฆ

I would be honored if you would go here, and read the rest of my poem. Thank you!

featherlight

breathing into the sky
and into the red kites sitting
in my heart

reminiscence
of days gone by, and of days
yet to come

lingering
in love

while also experiencing the pain
of the tallest mountain tops

where
air becomes thin
and you

are unfolded
in

the celestialness of my dismay

a feather

as light as the wind
sits

underneath the texture of
my skin

dripping, with a love
which never materialized within

celestial dismay was inspired by the poem Flint and Feathers by, Lisa Walker.

#NatureSpeaks: 30 Poems in 30 Days Collaboration

This post officially concludes the Nature Speaks of Love and Sorrow: 30 Poems in 30 Days Collaboration. Thank you to all of the exceptional writers and friends that took part in this collaboration. It was an honor to write with you.

And, thank you to everyone that participated in the 30/30 collaboration by reading, liking, and commenting on the poems shared. I still have some poetic responses to share, and will share them in the weeks to come.

Announcements

I am excited to announce that I am working on a new collaborative project for 2023. I will begin to communicate the details of this new project in the next two months, with more being shared when we enter the new year. Please stay tuned to this site for more information about this new initiative.

I am also going to begin a weekly prompt sometime in the next month, once I rest and recuperate from the 30/30 collaboration, which means that my blogging schedule will reduce to 3 to 4 posts a week going forward.

Have a gorgeous Sunday, and the coming week.

a chrysalis

I walk down the street
watching
the mist fall from the sky

a deluge, and
remembrance of another time

emotions

carry me forward, and
across the horizon
line

a butterfly

inspiration
wells in my chest
remembering my parents, and the kids
they once
were

inside of a particular context

working hard, tired
eyes

telling
stories about the challenges, and
joys

of life, like a chrysalis

they always tried, and gave out
every ounce

of the love they felt
in their hearts and minds

a chrysalis was inspired by the poem The Butterfly Poet, by Paula Light.

#NatureSpeaks: 30 #Poems in 30 Days โ€“ Day 14: Butterflies Blue, by Shruthi Senthilkumar

Sometimes I think of them
As I rest in the sky
Glistening with love and pain
The oceans in our eyes.

And sadness comes splashing in
An ache on an aquamarine wind
The chill of the past, the tides on the whole
The diverging gushes of a waterfall soul

Yet right where it settles in
Is a cauldron deep within
From which a sapphireโ€™s light bursts through
With the remainder of love and butterflies blue.

But sometimes I think of them
As I rest in the sky
Glistening with love and pain
The oceans in our eyes.

Butterflies Blue was inspired by the poem Butterfly Love. You can read more of Shruthiโ€™s poetry at Read Up.

#NatureSpeaks: 30 #Poems in 30 Days โ€“ Day 11: The Desert Dance, by Cindy Georgakas

Tumbleweed pulses through my veins,
of Baryshnikovโ€™s dance.

I writhe in pain as I wrap my feet and smile.

My heart races as the heat of the desert scorches within

searching for an opening

my gut twisted in knots as I breathe in the beauty of the cholo cactus that runs through my spine out my crown Chakra,

reminiscent of the heavens I find within
you and me.

I take a bow to the audience and the vista-blowing tumbleweed that sweeps my heart to love that opens to the heavens.

The Desert Dance was inspired by the poem Green Leaves. You can read more of Cindyโ€™s poetry on Unique Times with Cindy.

#NatureSpeaks: 30 #Poems in 30 Days โ€“ Day 10: Scattered Sakura, by C.X. Turner

I find you
in the flower
and the water

in tears of late winter
early spring comes true
gently trickling

love
flows softly, intently
rippling between us

yet scattered
sakura petalsโ€ฆ
drift with the current

ceasing to resist
integrating my present
with a smile

I find you, again

rainbow sky

I spell your name
through the stars in the sky
and

with the love
in my

heart

a special place
of hope, and trust

and a single point of light
caressing

the trauma and pain

an allegory, saved
from past days

when your kiss was a rainbow
in the sky

and your embrace filled me with
love

now gone by
