my muse lives in the wind
and under my skin
bleeding ink over a transparent sky
thin
and rough
around the edges
where the ambit of life is known
and unknown, and
we practice returning the love weโre shown

I am pleased to announce that my poem, your eyes, is now available at MasticadoresUSA. Thank you to Gabriela Marie Milton, and the team at MasticadoresUSA for their continued support and for publishing this piece.
your eyes
nature is full of wonder, all of its
aspects take me
under, into a world seen and unseen
like the breeze
on a cold and windy day
in the midst of a calm sea
I resign, and stayโฆ
I would be honored if you would go here, and read the rest of my poem. Thank you!

painted hills and magenta skies
call to me
to see
all that I once believed
as lollipops arise in your eyes
a special place in my heart
they do reside
inside
the love that goes out with the tide
and mingles with the salt and stone
a guide unknown
to those that know, a place called home

until the sun
I stand in line to buy lemons and limes
while reminiscing on the
times
enthralled and divined
while feelings keep coming up
Iโve tried to stopโฆ
I would be honored if you would go here to read the rest of my poem. Thank you!

cloudless drifter
oranges and limes fill the sky
a scent reminiscent of another time
when love was like a drop of candy in the winter
and the fields were dusty
a cloudless drifterโฆ
I would be honored if you would go here, and read the rest of my poem. Thank you!

I hike the trail,
while also knowing
the trail hikes me, which
though it may seem like a paradox,
is just another example of the oneness of
this worldโs orthodox.
As we move on the trail,
there are wonders
to behold
as a whole myriad of greenness
comes to life
before our very eyes,
and, we begin to see why
it is that this world,
is so full of pain
and pleasure both,
though
there is another way
forward,
if you are so bold.
Remembering
that all of nature
is a reflection
of all that we see
beneath
the layers
of memories and ideas
weโve held onto
out of necessity
and, in part, grandiosity.
Notions
of whatโs come before,
become magical connections,
just like the trees roots,
as they make their necessary
preparations.
Rooted
in the unknowing,
we become like the tree,
both flexible,
and deeply anchored,
in the One with the knowing.
In response to Writing Contest by Soni, from Soniโs thoughts.

Strange as it can sometimes seem,
Yes, just like a dream, everything is in motion
In this life, just like it is supposed to be.
Everyone plays their part, from the very start, even when
We second-guess, and are confused about
The hidden art, which conjures such scenes
Of mystery, confusion, and, yes sometimes
Delusion.
Living inside of the unknown can be precarious,
And even downright gregarious and, at times,
Even quite nefarious.
Yet, living inside a dream isnโt always as
It seems. There is a rhyme and reason in
Every season, even when, maybe, especially
When we are searching for a reason.

To question, or not to question? Hm. How many times do you remember being in a class, with a group of friends, or in a work environment where you wanted to ask a question, yet didnโt? Yep, me too. Really, we all have those memories.
Many people are afraid to ask questions, to speak up generally. Why? Afraid of looking silly, asking the โwrongโ questions, not being taken seriously, or being made fun of. Has happened to all of us at some point.
Yet, the ability to ask questions, to discern relevance out of a context that is unclear, to move toward more clarity, while acquiring more knowledge and adding to the knowledge-base within the context is really important. Why?
Well, letโs ask Socrates, shall we. Here we go.
โTrue wisdom comes to each of us when we realize how little we understand about life, ourselves, and the world around us.โ โ Socrates
Goal Cast
And this one.
โThe only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.โ -Socrates
Goal Cast
Powerful. Simply, there is so much unknown about life and the world, that to not ask, to not speak up in a way cheats ourselves and all of humanity out of possible progress.

The topic of questioning is so important. Important to life, the world, the production and eventual dissemination of knowledge, and, yes, it is also very important to our development. Why? Well, Iโve got 10 reasons.

Alright, there are 10 reasons why asking questions is important to your development. Letโs take a look at how they are interconnected. Ready? Here we go.
When we learn, we know more, and when we know more we have more clarity about our life, yes, and of the lives of those around us. Learning and knowing are part of development. And clarity is an output of learning and knowing more.
When we collaborate with others we get to know people better, and we also get to know ourselves better.
Within a collaborative context that embraces strategy, we also create the possibility of developing an innovative culture. And, inside of an innovative culture, we create more innovative possibilities, which also contributes to future strategies. All of which contributes positively to our development and growth.

Iโve written in other posts that vulnerability contributes to and fosters innovation. Vulnerability is actually where the seeds of innovation will eventually grow. And, like innovation growing through vulnerability, we also develop and grow when we are vulnerable.
Relationships are created, in part, through trust. When we trust each other, we can be real, be vulnerable, learn more from each other, and grow together. When we are open to each other, we get so much more from each other.
Leadership is dependent upon all of the aforementioned. And, I am not only writing about leaders in the traditional sense. I am also writing about every human on the planet. We all have the opportunity to lead. Lead from within, and from without.
When we lead by asking questions, we model our interest and support of contexts that are open to development and growth. We create more possibilities for ourselves, and for everyone around us.
Possibilities to learn, to know, to have more clarity, to build collaborations and strategy, which foster vulnerability, trust, and relationships; and, that is leading.
Ask your questions, and develop yourself and everyone else around you.
This past week, I created a message about fear of the unknown in a Friday Message to the team of folks I work and collaborate with.
Here is that message
This week Iโve been noticing, and reflecting upon fear. Fear that comes with not knowing. And, the byproducts of fear of the unknown, like being nervous and or anxious. I notice them first within myself. The only way one can notice them in others is to first notice them in oneself.ย
There is also a knowing in all of this unknown, however, which is that fear and fearโs byproducts are a normal part of the human experience. You are not alone in your fear. If someone tells you they have no fear, they are simply not aware of the fear within themselves, or refuse to accept it.
I was talking to my mom this week, who lives in CA, where the restrictions on shelter-in-place and social distancing are much more rigorous than here locally. We were talking about my momโs fear about the future, and the realization that this is a normal process of understanding.ย
I believe that to understand what is possible, and to create new future realities, we must acknowledgeย all aspects of our being, our shared humanity. When we do so, we open up a creative space within ourselves and the space to share ourselves with others experiencing the same emotions and fears.
By recognizing our fears as a part of the normal human experience we also create acceptance within ourselves of our fears, and likewise then create the space to accept others and their fears.ย
This is called compassion. Compassion for ourselves, our neighbors, our friends, family, team, our local community, and the greater world.
I share this with you as a creation that stemmed from the COVID-19 health crisis. To often, I think, people get caught up in thinking they are not creative, which can actually inhibit creativity, and is simply not true. Creativity lives inside each of us, and can be defined in a myriad of ways, from an idea, to a fully operating business.
One of the distinctions about creativity, is that in order for a creative idea or business model to live in the world, action must be taken. Otherwise the creative idea or business model remains a concept in language. So, take action today, and go execute on your conceptual creativity.
Until next timeโฆ
