I walked through the door once, and into a different land entirely, sky full of blood, torn in two, it was a wonder to feel the loss at the center of the vacuumโฆ
thoughts racing, with a heart rendering love, an afterglow cast, inside my chest breathing fast, and then, in from the gloom
came you, sure-footed, with a love the size of the moon, dispelling the shadows in heart and mind, you did always remind me
of the aliveness living inside of moments won
as great clarity did come, and you and I settled in for an afternoon under the sunโฆ
I am excited to share my poem, I gently wish upon a star, which is now available at MasticadoresIndia. Though this is my last poem of the year with MasticadoresIndia, I am very excited about being a regular monthly contributor next year. Thank you again to Terveen Gill, and the entire team at MasticadoresIndia for publishing this piece, and for their continued support.
I gently wish upon a star
heartaches, reminding me of earthquakes, experienced in between the lines, moving past mistakes
of a life, this life, lived in moments unsure, and in others, grown taller than the applewood trees flowersโฆ
I would be honored if you would go here and read the rest of my poem. Thank you!
the city slumbers, while the giant, along, lumbers, taking respite, when, in times of trouble, the mechanical birds, circle in the air, speeding more than is, a trifle, fair
spreading wings of love onto the land, protecting the visage of the wear and tear, it is the darkness prepared, and the light responding if they dareโฆ
battle imminent, patrons vigilant, while across the land, warriors gather, battle plans scrawled, even as some drawl and make the last call
needed, as love and light prepare, some scared, others ready for the nights, and the heights of desperation bared to
each soul everywhere, they take formation, gathering under the wings of justice, let ourselves stay present to the life-affirming sustenance
of the land, and within it, the love of our hearts, together, sheltered, as we whisper, this, our final prayerโฆ
