wash away all the fears

Photo by Artem Sapegin on Unsplash

the sky bleeds
each day,
renewing
itself in its journey,
which, yes,
is sometimes
frayed around
the edges, and is also
pure warmth
in its acceptance

of
a knowing
we hold
deep inside,
which,
reminds us to

look
to the sky, in
times of worry,
knowing we shall
see all of ourselves
in the glory we behold
on an early morning

sun rising,
golden delight,
washing the daytime
woes away,
with a single brushstroke
of warmth,
and rays,

filling the volumes
of our souls
with an everlasting
energy, and healing presence,
especially when
we are
feeling sad, and
so diminished

so,

when we
are quaking, and
in need of safety,
remember,
to look up, and
allow the light
to enter
your heart,

and
wash away
all the fears that
we continue to
hold dear

beyond the horizon

Photo by Rodion Kutsaev on Unsplash

I love to stare off
into the distance, and
witness the birth,
and newness of each
moment,
arising, sometimes
disguising,
and always, always,
mesmerizing

me, while
also

moving me
from deep within,
to another place
and time, and
rejoining me
with
all my kin

beyond hope,
and fear, a land
full of dreams, which
comes and goes, as quick
as my heart beats thin

slowly dancing
to each moments
memory, and
the scope
of our collective hope

transfigured,
I realize these moments
last an eternity,
as the leaves
cascade down
from their mast

and, I

cast
my eyes beyond
the horizon, breathe
in deep,
and thank everyone,
and everything
around me
for the solitude,
and joyousness
I feel at last

Not Beyond Repair

Photo by Flash Dantz on Unsplash

Head under water,
necessitates
another way of being,
while the paradox of life
keeps on playing.

Hard to breathe,
lungs burning,
heart aching,
all the while,
the mind
keeps

straying.

Tears fall,
while hope
lingers
along my fingers.

A subtle touch,
and feeling returns
to the essence
of my being.

While drenched
in my solitude,
the connection
remains
among you.

Like the birth
of a flower,
time is now
flourishing
without heartache
or sorrow.

And,

as time skips a beat,
love finds me,
cradles me
with care,
and in that moment,
I know,
Iโ€™m not beyond repair.

Family, Friends, and Kin

Beauty exists in a vacuum
of space and time,
and is all around us, beckoning
us on a heartโ€™s journey
toward fulfillment of all thatโ€™s sublime.

Purpose and destiny, bundled up
with tender loving care, and
sealed with a kiss from
all those weโ€™ve
touched

and shared

moments
with, like these.

Just reading or writing a little
before we drift off to sleep,
and dream dreams of
a land so deep and rich,
weโ€™ve wondered
where itโ€™s been
while we were out in search
of all that bliss.

Right here, right now,
present
to humanity within,
and all
those
family, friends and kin.

The Moment’s Prose

Photo by Andreas Fickl on Unsplash

Have you ever lost a love
so close,
itโ€™s left you spinning,
and in need
of a heart to slow?

Itโ€™s as if you tucked
this love away
in a blanket,
nestled it with care and kindness,
and, when you went back
to collect your oldness,
you found the blanket empty,
and all that remained was coldness.

You then
wrap yourself in the blanket
that once contained
the love of closeness,
and you feel the warmth
of every breath,
tear, and smile,
that played away
when you last called upon
that loves controldness.

And,
as a tear falls from the sky,
you realize,
that the love so close,
was only ever meant to be
yours for the momentโ€™s prose.

A Bloggerโ€™s Diary 5/23/21: On the Week, Writing and Reflecting, Hiking, and Beauty

This Week

This week was full of preparation for the next fiscal year; and, continuing to reflect upon all of the beauty that surrounds us โ€“ really, both are equally true of this past week.

Before I write more about the latter, letโ€™s take a look at the writing that occurred this week.

Writing and Reflecting

Photo by Kazi Mizan on Unsplash

The poem Beyond Time was a reflection on the internal work Iโ€™ve been engaged in these past four years. Continuing to be present to my emotions as they arise, and then following those back to the experiential seed.

The poem is also a reflection upon stillness of mind, which can and does occur, and the fact that, in those moments there is no time; it simply does not exist. Beautiful.

Writing the poem Atop, which was inspired by the WDYS #82 prompt, from Keep it Alive, by Sadje, was an interesting process. Initially, I had one idea, even wrote two stanzas, and then as I contemplated the two stanzas, another insight occurred, which is the poem in its present state.

Simply, the world exists in its present condition, when we view it as such. New experiences occur, and the world comes into view. As Iโ€™ve written about previously, the view we experience is based upon the concepts we hold about the world; and, this is only one way to view the world.ย

As Iโ€™ve found out about, and experienced, there are many other ways to view the world, which is, well, quite freeing.ย

Hiking

As you all know, I have a new series, Willamette Valley Wanderings and Wonderings, which now has two installments. This week, I hiked Silver Falls State Park, which was absolutely amazing.

I will save the details of the hike for the next installment of the Willamette Valley Wanderings and Wonderings series, however, I just had to include a few more pics in this diary entry.

Beauty

As I walked around campus this week, and contemplated the hike I was going to take on Saturday, I was present to all of the beauty that surrounds us. A flower blooming, a bird calling, a leaf dancing in the wind, a stranger helping another, there are so many things right in front of us, when we pay attention.

Part of my internal work, as you know, also includes my meditation practice, which has been transformational in my life. Being fully present is a gift, and we all have this gift within us.

When we let go of the concepts that typically drive our reactions, pause, reflect and contemplate our life, we learn stillness; and, it is in this stillness where presence to all that is within us, and without us lives. Beautiful.

As you walk through your week, notice the flowers, the trees, the people, and how that makes you feel. It is a tremendous experience.

Alright, thatโ€™s all for this week, my friends.

Be well, and have a lovely week.

Unpacking and Reconceptualizing Purpose

Photo by Laura Seaman on Unsplash

Iโ€™ve been reflecting a lot upon the concept purpose the past few weeks, and, whereas Iโ€™ve not come up with any real new conclusions about purpose, I do have a few reflections to share with you. Ready? Okay, here we go.

Letโ€™s first define the concept.

purpose noun

the intention, aim or function of something; the thing that something is supposed to achieve

Oxford Learnerโ€™s Dictionaries

There we go.ย

While I understand this definition, it leaves me feeling a little wanting. Meaning, while I understand the definition perfectly well, I think it can set us up for heartbreak if weโ€™re not careful.

For instance, what happens if the โ€œsomething that is supposed to [be] achieved,โ€ is not achieved. Then what? Hm.

Photo by Ava Sol on Unsplash

I have a different way to think about purpose; and it consists of three basic concepts.

  1. Being present.
  2. Accepting what is.
  3. Creating anew.
Photo by Naassom Azevedo on Unsplash

When we are fully present, each moment lives and breathes with a purpose all itโ€™s own. Thinking about purpose this way is not about โ€œachievement.โ€ Itโ€™s not about striving or seeking anything. Itโ€™s about being present to what is, accepting it with an open heart and mind, and then taking the actions necessary to create anew in each moment.

Thinking about purpose this way, eliminates the need for something specific to happen. Instead, each moment something unexpected can occur, and we can accept it, and create our life anew from that space.ย

That is powerful, empowering, and purposeful.

Vision

Photo by Todd Trapani on Unsplash

Overlapping emotions
can be hard to juggle,
especially in times of struggle.
We may run, and
hide, yet still never forget
you may always abide.

In a presence within you,
which was created prior to
your becoming,
and all the little things of knowing.
Thereโ€™s so much more to discover,
so let the music play, and
carry you away.

Dance and sing,
even when it stings.
For in those moments of
consternation,
you are always burning bright,
with creation
and determination.

Just as you are now,
donโ€™t fret, rather,
be that which you see
on those long cold nights,
when you feel frightened to
the bone. Chilled by indecision,
and all those misgivings
of your past collisions.

They are a part
of this worldly subsistence,
and, in fact, can teach us quite a lot
about our own resilience,
and mutually coexistence.

Remember also, my dear,
that we all have these moments
of indecision,
so be present to all that you are,
and never fear,
because you are a part
of a much grander
vision.

Presence is Present as a Present: Amber and Jeff (2)

Photo by Jamie Pilgrim on Unsplash

I sit and stare out the window,
as light, refracting,
dances and glints at me,
reminiscent of memories of another
time,
filling my face with light that
glows brightly from within as
the presence
sits upright and holds tight.

Within the temple of my senses,
the mystery I contemplate
awakens me
to the quiet immensity
of the antenna of my satellite.

I watch, listen, and learn, from
within,
the presence fills me with such
delight, and
the awakening keeps my mind clear
insight.

The outer worldโ€™s reflection
is alive with sprites,
beings in this garden
of Gaiaโ€™s night.

Behold,
the sense of alight
you feel,
as you watch,
the silent observer within,
for the next part of this
rhyme,
we may call lifeโ€™s present to
sight.

Dreaming imagination,
yet steady observance
within this soul vehicle,
drifting in and out
of shades of consciousness
whilst grounding to the foundations
of the earthโ€™s core vibration.

Within and without, such
a dance of wonder and joy
to conjure and explore. Stay and move
with the vibration thatโ€™s there, for itโ€™s the gift
of this lifeโ€™s stability and core.

Presence is present as a present,
multitudes of every giving galore.

We hope you enjoyed this second collaboration between Amber of DiosRaw and myself. Much fun.
